Rita Oden - THE Salado Specialist:
Rita Oden has been involved in Village of
Salado activities in some form or other ever since she first
moved to Salado in 1992. At this time she was mainly involved in
her 3 boys’ activities helping at her church as Sunday School
Teacher and Speaker from 1994 to 1998 and of the Ladies
Ministries from 1993 to 1995 as well as Children’s Church Leader
from 1993 to 1994.
As the boys were growing up Rita volunteered as Mentor to Salado
ISD Students from 1996 to 1998, as a PTA Member from 1992 to
2001 and Treasurer of the Secretary of the PTA from 1995 to
1998. From 1993 to 1996 she was an Actress in Salado Legends and
A Christmas Carol as well as a Chairwoman for the Salado Family
Festival in 1994 and 1995 and the Salado Bluebonnet Parade in
1993. From 1992 to 1997 Rita was also a member of the Salado
Lions Club and their Membership Chairman from 1993 to 1996.
Rita has been a Member of the Temple Belton Board of Realtors
since 1992 and served as Grievance Chairman from 1993 to 2000 as
well as a Director from 1999 to 2005 and as Secretary in 2005.
She is a Founding Member of Grace Baptist Church Salado and has
served as Youth Chairman from 2004 to 2006. She has always been
very active in church activities and was Manager/Producer for
Christian Music Concerts from 1995 to 1998 and a Youth Chairman
from 2004 to 2006. She was a Member of the Salado Band Boosters
from 1996 to 2006 and served as their Treasurer from 2005 to
2006. Rita has been a Texas Master Gardener since 2001. Her more
recent volunteer work has been as a Child Patient Advocate and
Baby Rocker at Scott & White and as a Peer Counselor for Hope
Pregnancy Center.
In 2007 Rita was an Actress in the Salado Spur Theatre.
Currently Rita serves as a Director for the Salado Chamber of
Commerce. Through her community and professional activities Rita
Oden has made Salado a great place to live and a wonderful
community to call home. She is much respected by her peers and
her clients. She has worked very hard for the Village of Salado
to thrive and improve the life of many of its’ residents. She is
personable and always has an open ear for anyone who walks
through her doors. Whether the task is small or large, Rita will
tackle it and find a solution.
